Robin Maza is licensed Acupuncturist, Massage Therapist, Birth Doula, and Placenta Specialist. Throughout her various education and training Robin has gravitated to serving women in their journeys towards motherhood and through pregnancy and childbirth. Robin believes that pregnancy and childbirth are largely transformative and empowering experiences, and is honored when she has the opportunity to participate in that experience.
Robin has completed training in pre-and perinatal massage therapy through Carol Osborne's certification program, where she learned how to support laboring women with massage therapy skills, and where her love of childbirth truly began. Robin has also trained as a doula with DONA's renown doula trainer, Debra Pascali-Bonaro. During her acupuncture education at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in NYC, Robin completed training and internship in labor and delivery acupuncture with her mentor, Claudia Citkovitz LAc., PhD, at Lutheran Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, where she continued on to complete post graduate advanced training in labor and delivery acupuncture . It was through this journey that Robin found becoming a Placenta Specialist was a natural addition to the support she can offer to women in the postpartum healing period. Robin learned the art of placenta encapsulation through apprenticeship and is advancing her education through the Association of Placenta Preparation Arts (APPA).
Through a natural approach to support, Robin has seen the amazing effects of acupuncture, body work, and placatophagy for women. The tools which women can utilize to optimize their experiences are vast, and Robin is committed to offering her skills and services to promote positive outcomes, happy mothers and happy babies!
